Lessons

I missed the 1st day of EIR lesson due to some miscommunication of the Add/Drop so thursday was my first day of class. I read my lecture notes to catch up with the rest so that I'll be in the same par as them.

Basically wednesday lesson was about blogs and wiki (i didnt know before that wiki stands for 'What I Know Is'), online forums abd RSS, podcasting and obtaining informations from the net.

Thursday's lesson was about strategies while conducting internet research. I find it really effective. It helps to facilitate not only my thinking, but also research the smart way. Before this, I didn't know that Boolen operators existed. After trying it, no doubt I'm going to apply it in my future researches.
Based on my analysis of using Google and Google Scholar, I personally like using Google as the result came out were exactly what i needed. The results shown for Google was 228,000 while Google Scholar shows 161,000. I can even get images and maps under one page. Google scholar only limits to certain article which is mainly from books.

Doing citation and bibliography is an important thing because it avoids plagiarism. Admitting something that is not ours is a big No No. I can still remember vividly the day i entered TP Design School. All of us were to sign a piece of paper promising that we will not plagiarise anything from anywhere.

I'm having complication with the forum section. which forum should i participate? do i have to take a risk if i were to participate in it? will i get into trouble? Oh Mdm Faridah.. i need your help!

Initially i wanted to choose research topic about 'Discuss the effects of eating disorder.' however, somebody had chosen that so i came up with my own research topic, which is ' Discuss the impact of legalising same-sex marriage.'. I have to admit that the topic can get a little bit controversy, whats more with religion and social context but I'm not going to give my personal opinion about the topic. It's strictly about the impact and the outcome of same-sex marriage.
